The restoration of the destroyed and war-affected infrastructure may take at least 20-30 years. Regarding the restoration of Ukraine's natural ecosystems, this process may take from 60 to 100 years. Olena Kravchenko, the executive director of the International Charity Organization "Ecology-Law-Human," emphasized this harsh reality during a briefing at the "Ukraine – Ukrinform Media Center." She underscored that the restoration of biotopes and natural ecosystems will take a considerable amount of time, and even future generations may not see the natural landscapes that existed before the war.
It was also noted that enemy attacks cause the destruction of fertile territories in Ukraine. Olena Kravchenko pointed out that over 30% of the land area under military occupation is currently mined. This land, which was previously extremely fertile, is now falling victim to ruthless destruction, turning into a devastated area. This issue arises in the Kherson, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions.
